The client & owner of the brand needed updated photography for their digital marketing and ecommerce. She knew Brian through her son, the brand’s namesake, and asked him to capture organic & informal photos of her son wearing the brand’s product. Brian & the client discussed the goals of the shoot and what they hoped to accomplish. The resulting photos, taken at various locations around the island in an antique Land Rover, remain some of the brand’s most iconic imagery to date. The first project Brian photographed was so successful that it ended up getting picked up by Nantucket Magazine and helped Brian secure his role as editorial photographer for the magazine, which he still holds today.

When the client’s son took over the brand, he restructured the business and subsequently needed to be updated digital marketing and ecommerce material. The new owner was aiming to target a new, younger clientele, which required showcasing the brand in an updated way. The brand now sought to sell a lifestyle beyond just a product. Brian executed the client’s vision through three separate projects. First, Brian pulled stock imagery from his portfolio and created a curated collection of images that evoked the brand’s trademark style, classic New England, with images of traditional sailboats & iconic Nantucket scenes. Brian then offered creative direction & photographed lifestyle images aboard the celebrated Golden Age yacht, Belle. Lastly, he separately shot individual images of the updated product offering for the ecommerce site. Brian still works with Peter Beaton today, and has thoroughly enjoyed capturing this iconic brand over the last decade.
