In discussing the scope of the project and TCBW’s creative vision, Brian planned a series of photo shoots that would allow him to highlight the features of each TCBW craft. Having immersed himself in their workshop, Brian acquired insights into every facet that comprises this successful business. He captured images that showcase the key elements that drive TCBW’s success: design, construction, the vessel’s utilization, and the dynamic service team.

With the heavy marine traffic in and around Nantucket Harbor in the summer months, Brian asserted that it was best to shoot action photos at sunrise, so that they would have the harbor and surrounding waters primarily to themselves. At sunrise, Brian not only had incredible light to showcase the vessels, but he had the ability to isolate the boats in their element, without any other vessels getting in the way of the shot.

Shooting from a chase boat, Brian directed the fleet of boats to a few suitable shoot locations, gave instructions to the boat drivers, and captured action photos, first with his camera, then with his drone. Once the boats were docked and cleaned, Brian captured layout and detail photos of each vessel, illustrating TCBW’s beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail. After a successful commercial project with TCBW, Brian maintains his relationship with the team, documenting new builds & restorations as they are completed.
